What Is This All About?
Jack Grapes' Method Writing consists of 8 levels (and beyond). All are welcome to these interactive, informative and fun classes.
By working these different concepts your writing will improve AND no matter what level writer you are, these concepts will have a unique and positive impact on your writing and your creative outlook.
Level One students will work from the book, Method Writing: The First Four Concepts. Using this book as the syllabus housing on the foundational concepts:

- Writing Like You Talk
- The Transformation Line
- Image-Moment
- The “Dreaded” Association Exercise
Levels 2 - 8 and beyond, will use the book, Advanced Method Writing: The Art of Tonal Dynamics as their syllabus. It is in these levels that you begin to learn to manipulate your voice. It is through a “heightened use of language and stylistic effect” that you will learn to shift your voice, create a visceral power your reader feels in her gut or make your reader laugh or cry or . . . And it is through the development of this authentic voice that you will create a character.
Like music, your writing should be dynamic, not always the same note. AND, you want your writing to have an effect on the reader.
